I have a 1972 T2 which does not want to fire up anymore, I removed the spark plugs to check the spark and it seemed weak so I have replaced the Coil and put a new set of plugs in, however, it still doesnt start and after testing again the spark is still weak and intermittant  ???. Any ideas what to try now please ??

HI  do you have points fitted ? check the condition and gap and change the condenser (more difficult to check) . Try the main lead from the coil to distributor cap check for continuity OHMS  (if you have a multimeter), if old type HT leads brass ends check all leads and rotor arm condition (not burnt) also check inside the distributor cap for marks and the pin contact in the middle top inside moves in and out on its spring it needs to touch the rotor arm  .

Hope something helps Martin
