Window seals on a crossover

I have a 72 cross over and need to replace the window seals. Everywhere I look I see seals described as fitting all vans 68-79

However in trying to place an order with VW Heritage they tell me that a different seal is used bewtween 68-72 The reason i ask is that I already have a set of seals marked as ok for 73-79

Is there really a difference, does anyone know????? Any help would be good please..

Hello Goosey

I own a 72 myslef and had no problems with purchasing replacement window seals.  The only difference is if you have a converted panel van or a micro bus with factory fitted windows.  On the converted panel van the glass is set level with the panel of the van and the micro bus windows are recessed.

I believe that Just Kampers, VW Hertigate and Alan Schofield all should be able to supply you with seals without any problem.  You should also be able to get VWT2OC Club Discount with all 3 suppliers if you are a club member.

Regards

Mike
