Renewing Membership

Once again I cannot renew my membership online, this seems to be an annual problem.   I could not renew before Christmas and it now seems that if you have passed your renewal date you are no longer recognized.  It is no wonder members are leaving in their droves when their details vanish.  I may have to give my long membership a serious thought as to whether I shall renew.   I know I can send a cheque but why offer the online facility if it does not work.

Your time is incorrect on the website.  I did not post this at 13.10 but 21.10.

Hi Janet

I am sorry you are having problems with your renewal on the website. We are looking at the way the website works and considering how we develop it right now. The website a quite complicated and none of the committee are experts in this field so we are taking advise on how to proceed.

Once your membership has expired the inbuilt rules will consider you as a new member and start the application process. This was a decision adopted at an agm a few years ago - with intention of encouraging people to renew rather than have to pay the extra £3 joining fee.

I hope this helps

Paul

Hi Janet - and anyone else having problems.  Please email either the website manager or the membership managers if you have any problems as soon as they arise.  We have found a few problems, and the quicker we know about them the better.

If Tina and Ian have not already heard about the problem, I will make sure we sort it out between us.

Sometimes the problem is the website, sometimes it is the automated email from the payment system to the membership managers that is not happening as it should.

Please feel free to join in with these forums.  We put them on here for a reason - to keep members in touch around the country and the world, even when there are no camps planned.  Conversation does not have to revolve around the Club, vans, VW or anything else necessarily linked to the rest of the site.

However, we need to be sure that everyone knows the score.

Please keep entries friendly.  We will remove or edit out unsavoury content, but we prefer that you avoid posting it in the first place.  Remember that people of all kinds read these pages, and the Club is supposed to be a fun place to be.  Anyone who persists in leaving foul messages will be struck off the users list, Club member or not.

We hope you get involved with chatting here and find support with your repairs/restorations, friendship and entertainment.  Enjoy!
