A Club for all VW Camper Enthusiasts
The Volkswagen Type 2 Owners Club is a UK national club for owners and enthusiasts of the classic Volkswagen transporter van. That said, there are some most welcome members from outside the UK - hello there!
If you are a type 2 owner/enthusiast, you can Join Here.
The Club aims to help its members maintain their vehicles both as preserved historic vans and as restored, or otherwise reclaimed, going concerns keeping a family travelling and camping happily. From the technical team helping out with advice, to the mutual support of other owners chatting at events and camps, there is plenty to encourage even the most reluctant restorer.
Our members are spread right across the UK, and the Club tries to provide activities and events that everyone can attend and enjoy. Mostly, we run camps and rallies where members meet up and relax. There are also valuations and restoration teaching rallies. Finally, we also have a strong presence at some of the country's biggest VW events, including BVF and Vanfest. The Vanfest event was started within the VWT2OC and remains closely linked with the Club.

Important Announcment
Dear Members,
We held a committee meeting on 3rd December to discuss a number of issues that have become important to the club. Many of you will know that we decided to update the club's website and following a tender process that we ran in Feb 2011 we placed a contract on a company called Clickasite.
The agreement was for staged payments with 50% at kick off and 50% on completion. Clickasite quoted £5k to provide the club with a website that would give us a forum, events calendar, membership handling and associated secure database, on-line shop and picture gallery etc.
We have been let down badly by this company as they told us that it would be ready for launch at the 2011 A.G.M. We are still waiting for the website and we have had dozens of phone conversations and email exchanges but Clickasite have passed us from pillar to post.
The committee has decided to start a small claims court process to recover our money but that also means we will keep our existing website until we can afford to place a new contract.
It is our intention to change the payment method on our website to PayPal to get the joining and renewal process working again. This will incur a small cost but is anticipated to be the most cost effective solution to get the website working again.
